I’ve been thinking about how augmented reality (AR) could transform the way we learn to slow cook. Imagine using your phone or AR glasses to overlay instructions directly onto your slow cooker. Rather of flipping through a cookbook, you could see exactly where to place each ingredient, step-by-step, appearing right in front of you. Think of it as a super-detailed, interactive cooking show overlaid on your actual cooking setup.
Beyond just ingredient placement, AR could provide real-time feedback. Is your heat too high? Are you using the right cut of meat? The AR interface could analyse the visual details adn offer suggestions, taking some of the guesswork out of the process, especially for beginners.I wonder, though, if it would take away from the inherent ”zen” of slow cooking. Part of the appeal is the simplicity and the hands-off approach. Would constant AR feedback make it feel more complicated and less relaxing? Or would it empower more people to try slow cooking and feel confident in the kitchen, ultimately leading to more delicious,home-cooked meals? What are your thoughts?
