Personal Experience: How I Found My Style Through Exploring Artistic Whims

I’ve noticed so many people struggling to “find their ‍style,” whether it’s clothing, art, or even interior design. I think a big part of the⁣ problem is putting too much pressure on instantly identifying it. For me, the⁤ key was allowing myself to go on artistic whims.Rather of trying to emulate a specific influencer or aesthetic I admired,⁣ I ⁣started experimenting. I signed up for a pottery class even though I’d‌ never touched clay. I tried oil painting, despite knowing absolutely nothing ‌about color theory. I ⁢even attempted to make my own clothes, emphasis on *attempted.* Most of these experiments were… less then successful. I have ⁣a very lopsided vase and a half-finished dress to prove it.

But through ⁤these “failures,” I discovered what I *didn’t* like. I learned I ⁢prefer working with my hands, but sewing frustrations outweigh the joy. I enjoy bold colors, but maybe not *all* of them‍ together on one canvas. This process‌ of⁤ elimination and small discoveries gradually shaped my ‌preferences. It wasn’t about finding a pre-packaged “style,” but‍ organically ⁤growing into my own. Has anyone ⁢else found that letting go of the pressure to conform was helpful in discovering‍ their personal style?
