I find myself constantly replacing wooden spoons and silicone spatulas that I use in my slow cooker. Either they warp from the consistent heat, or they start to feel…sticky, even after washing. I’m not sure if it’s the prolonged exposure to certain sauces or just the general habitat inside the cooker, but it’s getting expensive and frankly, annoying.
Does anyone else experience this? Is there a secret pro-tip I’m missing, like a particular material that holds up better? I’ve tried both cheap and higher-end brands, and the results are pretty similar after a few months of regular slow cooking. Maybe I’m just destined to perpetually buy new cooking utensils, destined to feed the landfill one warped spatula at a time!
