Digital Smart Home Assistants vs. Physical Controls: Which is More User-Friendly?

I’ve been setting up a smart home, ‌and I’m constantly going back and forth on whether to automate everything through voice assistants or just stick‌ with physical switches and remotes. On one hand, being able to ‌say “Hey Google, dim the lights” ‌is incredibly convenient, especially when my hands are full. On⁢ the other hand, sometimes the assistant doesn’t understand⁣ me,or the internet is ⁢down, and suddenly a simple task becomes frustrating.

Physical controls are always reliable, but they also require me to physically be in the room and, potentially, walk to the switch. I’m curious what⁤ other people’s experiences are.Do you find⁤ smart assistants truly more user-friendly in the long run, or do you still rely heavily on physical controls? Are there ⁣specific situations were one is clearly superior to the other? I’m thinking about things like controlling the thermostat versus turning on a lamp. ‍Would also love to hear any tips for optimizing either system!
