Help Needed: How to Stop Buying Non-Minimalist Impulse Purchases

I’m really struggling with impulse purchases, especially things that don’t fit my minimalist lifestyle goals. I’m trying to curate a more intentional living space, but I keep getting drawn in by sales and “must-have” items I see online. It’s often small things – a quirky kitchen gadget I’ll probably use once, another decorative pillow even though I have plenty, or a new tech accessory.

Does anyone have any tried-and-true strategies for curbing these impulses? I’ve tried unfollowing certain accounts on social media, but the targeted ads still get to me. I’m thinking of implementing a 24-hour (or maybe even a week-long!) waiting period before buying anything that isn’t a necessity. Woudl love to hear what’s worked (or hasn’t worked) for others who are trying to adopt a more minimalist mindset and avoid those compelling, but ultimately unnecessary, purchases. Any tips on identifying the emotional triggers behind the impulse would be helpful too!
