Fundamental Question: Can You Be a Minimalist on a Tight Budget?

I’ve been thinking a lot about minimalism lately, and something keeps nagging at me: is it actually achievable on a really tight budget? It seems like so much of the lifestyle is presented as owning *less* but *better* – higher quality, sustainable items that, frankly, cost more upfront.

Such as, replacing cheap, fast-fashion clothes wiht a few well-made, durable pieces seems like a principle of minimalist living. But what if you can barely afford the cheap clothes in the first place? Does minimalism then become another luxury only accessible to those with disposable income?

I wonder if the answer lies in redefining what minimalism means on a budget. Maybe it’s less about buying expensive replacements and more about rigorously decluttering what you already own, focusing on repair and maintenance, and finding creative ways to repurpose items you already have. I’d be interested to hear other people’s thoughts and experiences on this. Are there any budget-amiable minimalist strategies that have worked for you?
